Founder of Biodiverse Designs; Certified Soil Foodweb Consultant and Advanced Permaculture Designer
Growing up in the ski town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Kyle Babcock developed a deep love for nature—skiing in the Rocky Mountains and gardening with his grandparents in Paonia.
These early experiences sparked a lifelong curiosity about how plants truly grow. After earning a Horticulture degree and an Advanced Permaculture Design Certification from OSU, Kyle still had a question to answer.
This search led him to Dr. Elaine Ingham and the world of soil microbiology. Now, as a Soil Food Web Consultant, Kyle helps farmers, gardeners, and land stewards restore soil health using biology, reducing the need for synthetic inputs and creating thriving, resilient ecosystems.
Through biological soil assessments, compost extracts, and permaculture design, Biodiverse Designs is bringing soil—and the landscapes it supports—back to life.
When he’s not working with soil and helping others restore their land, Kyle can be found exploring the peaks of the North Cascades and beyond. An avid backcountry skier, climber and mountaineer, he thrives in the mountains
His love for the outdoors fuels his mission to regenerate landscapes and cultivate resilient ecosystems.
